Career Objective
An experience Welding Inspector with an extensive background in fabrication welding assembly and installation of pressure equipment pressure piping.
Professional Experience
Barclay Mowlem (Laing O’Rourke) I gained structural inspection experience at the 20 kilometre conveyer at Curragh Mine central Queensland which including the three bins one a 120 ton assembled Dump Hopper and a 300 ton silo along with a 500 ton Bin.
I then had the opportunity with Laing O’Rourke to go to Gove in Northern Territory to work as an inspector on the G3 project were Laing O’Rourke installed the new Boiler 7 water tube boiler including the upgrading of steam piping systems from the existing boilers. In this role I became familiar with the weld tacking program called Weld Trace which is a stand alone MDR package program. The inspection of high pressure steam lines in green and brown field, exposed me to the preheating and post heating and welding of chromo molly heavy wall pipe along with other alloys including P91.
After Alcan G3 project I had the opportunity to work with United at The Moranbah Ammonia Nitrate project installing pressure vessels and piping systems using carbon and various alloys in different process piping systems.
Joining SNL Lavalin placed me at the Gora nickel refinery construction project New Caledonia in a team of inspectors where my inspector role widened to include the signing off of plumbness of structures such as tanks/pipe racks equipment placement, pump alignment, hardness testing of stainless and fibreglass joints, vessel and pipe inspection plus grouting inspection.
From there I again went to Gove for Laing O’Rourke on the SNL project installing pipe work for caustic process systems. From there I went to Dalby Power station were I helped instigate the setting up of the inspection systems forms and procedures.
Starting work for Arnott’s Inspection Engineering at Delco workshop in Brisbane under the guidance of the Welding Engineer to develop procedures to AS2885 for the Northern Territory Black Tip under ground pipeline project. Developing welding procedures for API 5L X65 to duplex and carbon to internal inconel clad piping.
Currently placed by Arnott’s Inspection Engineering at United Group Rail workshop in Townsville to do inspections and traceability of transportable pressure vessels which United are refurbishing and repairing these for Incitec.
