Career Objective
To obtain an entry-level position as a Mechanical Engineer-In-Training with an organisation where maintenance, safety and the environment are valued business objectives.
Professional Experience
My most recent position at Ivara Corporation, as Reliability Consulting Intern, provided me with opportunity to work on customer engagements where I could help clients migrate from reactive work environments to proactively planned maintenance. To that end, I assisted in developing and implementing technologically sound maintenance programs focused directly on reducing costs, maximizing equipment uptime, and improving the quality of products and services delivered to customers.
I carefully analyzed failure data in order to select viable mitigation strategies. As well, I utilized common predictive technologies along with my robust computer skills (Word, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Ivara EXP Enterprise, and TabWear) to successfully deliver on my assignments. At one point, I was working on-site alongside the project manager to support the rapid implementation of the World Class Equipment Reliability (WCER) program for one of Ivara’s key customers, Arcelor Mittal, the largest steel producer in the world.
Eductation
I obtained my Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lakehead University in 2008 and my Diploma of Mechanical Engineering Technology from SAIT in 2005. I offer demonstrated skills as a team player capable of making an impact on the shop floor, in the boardroom, or externally - with contractors and clients.
Certification
Engineer In Training - Ontario Society of Professional Engineers
Technologist In Training - Alberta Society of Engineering Technologists
Additional Information
Designed a cost effective retro-fitting Thermophotovoltaic (TPV) energy converter for a residential furnace for the co-generation of heat and electricity. Received 85% on university degree project.
Led “Heat Exchanger Group Design” Project at SAIT; provided technical design and solutions to optimize drilling operations performance and minimize production shutdown. Achieved grade A+ for the project.
Applied troubleshooting skills to correctly evaluate failures in hydraulic systems. Performed setup procedures, disassembled/reassembled hydraulic circuit to achieve maximum functioning. Achieved 80% final grade at SAIT.
Built an asset reliability program as part of a case study for the Reliability Centred Maintenance training at Ivara. Presented results to senior management that translated failure data into cost and measured the probability of failures using statistical analysis methods. Received highest marks for presentation.
Supported the rapid implementation of the World Class Equipment Reliability program for one of Ivara’s key clients – the largest steel producer in the world, Arcelor Mittal. Increased overall knowledge of the system for future users, defined indicators to increase throughput, and designed safety improvements.
