Responsibilities AS400Daily and Weekly backups for all the systems Weekly IPL's ( AS400 ).Message monitoring and escalation to required standby if needed. Monitoring of jobs for support staff at their request Release and monitors jobs for users at their request. End jobs for users at their request. Problem handling - Hardware, Software, Applications Remote Store duties.TANDEMMessage monitoring and escalation to required standby if needed. Monitoring of daily and weekly backups Perform various checking functions for support staff after hours.NETWORKStarting printers Check all controllers, lines, devices. Vary controllers / lines on or off as required. Transfer output from one printer to another as requested by the depot user. Recycle depot controllers when necessary. Monitor Routers and escalate to Network Support Router resetting or rebooting. Telkom fault reporting-lines and circuits.LANMonitor LAN backups and load tapes as required Load and unload software as requested ( ARCSERV )Check LAN printers on AS400 and HP400 for support staff. Check LAN servers.HELPDESKPassword problems. PC Support problems. LAN printers not working. Users unable to print from their ID's. Help users with sign on problems. Software application problems ( MS Word, Power Point, Excel etc. ).Logos problems - assist in problem solving. Installation of MS patches all SA Shell GI servers.
