ESTIMATION & PROCUREMENT ENGINEER

SYNOPSIS OF WORK EXPERIENCE

Working in M/s. UHDE INDIA PVT Ltd., as “Engineer – Procurement and Estimation Department” from July 2006.

My major responsibilities are Project Procurement and Cost Estimation.

Project Procurement

Project Procurement Activities for equipments, in line with Process equipment list.

Freeze Procurement Philosophy (including Tendering Procedures), Project specific Vendor List and Commercial Terms & Conditions including Instructions to Bidders, General Purchase Conditions, Special Conditions for Orders, General Conditions of Contracts etc.

Float enquiries to approved vendors, Commercially Evaluate offers, Negotiations with the vendors and placement of orders.

Place supplementary orders with Vendors / Suppliers for Bulk material and monitor from Procurement Control Documents that deliveries are in line with Project Schedule requirements.

Project Cost Estimation

Project cost estimation for sales proposals, feasibility and paid studies.

Understanding of Work Scope and Technical Requirements of the Tender (ITB).

Preparation and floating of enquiries globally for mechanical equipment, package systems and piping material as per agreed Vendor List.

Preparing Cost Estimates of Mechanical equipments like Static equipments, Rotary equipments, Utility package units, Piping bulk materials, Material handling equipments, Spares, Insulation and Painting.

Recommend Costs to be considered based on offers received, historic cost data and analysis based on current market scenario.

Estimation of Man-hours for Procurement activities as services.








Worked in M/s. Furnace Fabrica (India) Limited, as “Purchase Engineer” from October 2004 to June 2006.

Major responsibility was Project procurement for LSTK Projects.

Float enquiries to approved vendors, Commercially Evaluate offers, Negotiations with the vendors and placement of orders.

Follow up the ISO 9001 - 2000 activities as per ISO procedure.

Participation as “Auditee” on behalf of Materials Department for Internal Quality Audit.

B.TECH-MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

Thorough knowledge in Design aspects and Detailed cost estimation methods of Static equipments.
Good knowledge about Techno-Commercial Aspects of Project Procurement.
An in-depth knowledge of ‘sources’ for equipment, machinery, products and hardware using Petrochemical & Oil & Gas industries.
Good knowledge about physical properties, chemical properties, current market information and price trends of raw materials, like carbon steel / stainless steel, used in process industries.
Good knowledge of latest Market trends.
Good exposure in software’s like SAP & Cleopatra.
Strong analytical and managerial skills acquired from leading and dynamic organizations leads to reduction of lead cycle time in the Project Procurement process thereby increasing Profitability.
