Currently assign as an outside machinist for the Ship Repair Team (SRT). Responsibilities include:
Perform intermediate ¡V level maintenance on all types of main propulsion systems, equipment, and auxiliary machinery aboard former USN KNOX and PERRY class frigates and MHC (Mine Hunter) in support of Egyptian Navy shipboard lifecycle maintenance requirements.
Performed upgrades, removing and installing new pre-lube pumps, fuel oil injection pump coupling and cylinder heads for Diesel Engines Propulsion (eight cylinder) ¡V Model 2949F01 and Generator ¡V Model 2953F01 (Fincantieri Divisione Grandi Motor). This includes performing hydrostatic tests on jacket water system, setting fuel oil pump injection timing, adjusting valves and injectors, and performing operational tests.
Removal, disassemble, clean and inspected ¾¡¨ to 12¡¨ various hull valves, which included gate, globe, butterfly and check valves. Reassembled and accomplished surface contact, body tightness, seat tightness, operational and watertight integrity check points. This also includes filling out Valve Data Sheets, submitting Condition Reports, Open & Inspect Reports and reinstalling various hull valves.
Inspect hull valve nozzles, nozzle flanges and waster piece. Assist in submitting Condition and Open & Inspect Reports for defective hull nozzles and waster pieces.
Assist in the flushing of 1A, 1B and 1C Main Feed Pump Lubricating Oil Systems (Steam Vessel). This also includes performing Cleanliness Inspection Check Points.
