Additional Information
1.Member of the delegation representing IIT Kharagpur in the Industry ?Student Symposium at the 7th International Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition, New Delhi, PETROTECH 2007.
2.Only Student in the country to represent IIT in the Nace International training programme on Corrosion in Refining Industry at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited,Mumbai.
3.Inspired by the Bollywood movie, “Lagey Raho Munnabhai”, I started reading about passive resistance and Satyagraha and in the process, came across the United Nations Stand Up Campaign for youth aimed at publicity of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) for its effective implementation. An international web editor’s contest was being held during October 2006 to popularize the event and one winner each was to be selected from five of the continents. I identified different drives for this event in self like the urge to contribute to the society, to try use this opportunity as a means of certification by the United Nations if among the top few contestants or to create some opportunities for internship at the United Nations. Based on them, I participated in the event and eventually, was declared the winner for the best article under the category for youth from the Asia-Pacific region.
