I started as MWD specialist trainee, International Commuter (IC), in December 2004. As an International Commuter I’ve been working at Schlumberger UAE, Yemen and Saudi Arabia locations.
My main duty was to make sure that the logging unit would go to the rig with properly equipped by checking tools before and after the job.
I programmed tools according to the client requirements, continuously monitoring the tools’ performance to make sure the data I had were accurate.
I was also sending daily reports to my manager and to our client.
After successfully completing a seven-month measurement course in the UK Training Centre (UTC), I was promoted to cell manager, carrying out several assignments in the rig and leading my crew.
At the end of each job, I would also produce a client data delivery report.
In November 2007 I’ve started working as LWD/MWD Engineer, International Mobile (IM) in Mumbai, India. I was also in charge of LWD tools, gaining a deep understanding of calibration methods.
I undertook a course to learn about how to calibrate porosity-density tools and directly dealt with the clients on a regular basis. I also produced inventories for logging units going to the rigs.
After successfully completing a nine-week training course at Schlumberger Learning Centre in Houston, Texas, I was awarded a certification as Engineer Grade 1.

During my time at Nabors I undertook an intensive training programme, which provided me with a thorough knowledge and experience of safety regulations.
I also had the chance to perform a wide range of rig-related roles such as roustabout, roughneck, derrick man, mud tester and assistant driller.
