I am a professional geoscientist currently based in Bangladesh with more than 12 years of work experience in the petroleum E & P companies like Shell and Cairn in exploration, development and new venture projects in various aspects of geophysics and geology.

I started my career in 1996 with Cairn Energy Plc. a UK based E & P Company as a Geophysical Engineer (Field Assistant). I moved to Shell Bangladesh Exploration and Development B.V. in July 1999 and worked as a Seismic Interpreter (Geophysical Engineer). During that time I was seconded to Shell Malaysia in Miri for nine months in 2003 where I worked mainly with the development team as a Seismic Interpreter. My job was transferred from Shell to Cairn Energy Bangladesh in July 2004. I was cross posted to Cairn Energy PLC, UK for one year in the year of 2005 & 2006 and worked with the exploration team of Cairn India, Bangladesh and Nepal in Edinburgh. In August 2006, I was promoted to Senior Geophysicist.

I have 9 years of experience in seismic interpretation of 2D and 3D dataset, mapping, synthetic seismograms, seismic attribute analysis for reservoir properties distribution, velocity analysis & depth conversion techniques, risk and uncertainties assessment and volumetric calculation. I have long experience in prospect generation, prospect appraisal, acreage evaluation, well and field development planning.

I have gained working experience in different basins in Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Malaysia. I have good experience in both clastic and carbonate reservoirs. I have gained international experience in the UK and Malaysia.

I also gained nearly four years of experience in seismic acquisition in onshore and shallow marine transition zone in Bangladesh. I have experience in seismic acquisition planning and preparation of technical specification for contract document. I was involved in several data acquisition and drilling projects and provided technical input and recommendations during planning and operations.

I have strong workstation skills. I have mastered skills in seismic interpretation tools such as IESX, CHARISMA, SeisWorks and mapping softwares such as Petrosys, CPS3, ZMAP, and volumetric assessment and risking software such as VARSET, Fastrack and SPACE and depth conversion tool such as Depth Team Express.

I have experience of mentoring junior team members.
