Career Objective
I am geologist based in Denmark with a MSc in geology, University of Copenhagen. Geology experience includes 3 years of field and lab work. I am looking for a challenging and interesting opportunity world-wide in the oil & gas industry.
Professional Experience
I currently work as a geologist/sedimentologist (since March 2005) at a geotechnical/geological consulting firm in Denmark, Geosyd A/S. Geosyd provides geotechnical and geological consulting at offshore windmill projects, large highway projects and harbour projects.
My working responsibilities are: gelogical/sedimentological interpretation of recovered core material.
I make geological maps and conduct surveys before the initiation of larger projects. It involves making of 3D geological models of areas of interest combining data from core material, geophysical logs and existing maps.
I am responsible for the companys Laboratorium as well.
I prepare and write reports to custumers/clients and are familiar with strict deadlines.
I often have personal contact with clients in the preparing phase of projects. Recently I have provided geological models/surveys to a a large highway building-projects north of Copenhagen, and I have worked as geological consultants at an offshore windmill projects as well.
I am responsible for the company when my current manager is on vacation or paternity leave.
Eductation
· September 2002: BSc in general geology from University of Copenhagen. My BSc-project was done on the deltaic Cretaceous Atane Formation, West Greenland, and involved interpretation of sedimentary facies from core material. It also involved description of petrology and diagenetic alterations from thin section material.
· January 2005: MSc in geology/sedimentology with good grades from University of Copenhagen. My Master project was done on a Jurassic sandstone reservoir located offshore Mid-Norway.The study was supervised by Dr. N. Molenaar, Technical University of Denmar and Associated Professor, G. K. Pedersen, University of Copenhagen. The work was based on core material, well logs, and thin section material kindly provided by Statoil, Norway, and during my work I had the opportunity to interpret the connections between sedimentary facies, interpreted form core material and well logs, sandstone petrology and diagenesis, and how they affect reservor properties.
Certification
Jakob Heller graduated as a geologist from the University of Copenhagen with a M.Sc. degree in geology. During his study Jakob Heller had the opportunity to measure a sedimentological log from core material, thereby strengthening his interpretations of the connections between sedimentary facies, sandstone petrology and diagenesis. During his study Jakob Heller has proved himself to be a dedicated student, both during field courses which have dealt with mapping or logging, and in classes. He was well liked by his fellow students, and always ready to assist in solving practical problems. I warmly recommend Jakob Heller as a geologist with an interest in the inter-pretation of sedimentary successions and characterization of reservoir properties.
Yours sincerely
