2000-2002 Instrumentation Engineer, Fujairah Refinery Company Ltd, Managed by Petrofac Resources International in the UAE.
Implementation of projects for the refinery and tank farm, which had been dormant and inactive for 5 years and required major upgrades, improvements and additions to start up the refinery to operational condition again.
My responsibilities included: specification, design, procurement, installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning of site instrumentation; supervision of company technical staff; to resource, evaluate and supervise contractors and vendors; and all routine operations and maintenance of site instrumentation, Cable schedule, termination design, Control valves and orifices size calculation, DCS arrangement/configuration/schematic design, Design of instrument hardware installation. Preparation/design Loop drwngs, complete package of documentation for projects, inst. spec. sheets, Instr. Index list as per P&ID’s, Instrument data for Maintenance Management System. Revised/updated P&ID’s &PFD’s “as built”, DCS updates/maintenance, Start up loop checking.
