Teacher and Training Manager

A satisfying carrer in training and teaching

English language teacher of 22-years experience: around ten years of experience as a full-time teacher of 18 to 23 year olds; and about ten years in management. Senior teacher for six years with teacher-training responsibilities. Head of Curriculum and Head of Textbook Project for eight years: ten textbooks completed to deadlines, as well as a comprehensive syllabus document linked to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). Currently studying distance mode for a doctorate at Durham University. Involved in teaching, teacher training, curriculum development, advising, group facilitation, and committee work. As a senior member of staff, and as a student, I am used to working alone, with little direct supervision. Developing textbooks (and studying for an MA and doctorate) has helped develop my computer skills, and my ability to use the internet. I am proficient in Microsoft Word and experienced with Excel. I made use of the opportunities for professional and personal development as they arose, and I have learnt to work in a well-organized and disciplined way. Other campus activities have been important to my life here, and I have worked with the President of the University, on a number of biographical and scholarly works.
