OCTOBER 2004 TO FEB 2009
Sherritt International (head office in Calgary, Alberta, Canada) in Cuba as the Production Coordinator. I coordinated day to day activities such as new well completions, well servicing, well optimization, trouble-shooting, and other various tasks that goes along with oil and gas production. I was responsible for commissioning, operation and maintenance of four oil treating facilities, various collector stations, testing stations along with an ocean disposal facility for produced water disposal. I also supervised 130 Cuban operators. Being that there was an obvious language barrier, I seized the opportunity to become fairly fluent in the Spanish language.
JUNE 2003 TO OCTOBER 2004
Baytex Energy as a contract gas well and compressor operator. I operated and maintained gas production from 30 gas wells, 8 booster compressors, and 2 four stage sales compressors.
APRIL 2002 TO JUNE 2003
Nexen Inc. as a battery and field operator at their Marsden facilities. I operated and maintained 45 oil wells (conventional and PCP units) flow lined to two oil treating facilities (pressure vessels and atmospheric treaters) along with 18 water injection wells. I gained knowledge in water flood techniques and a better understanding of reservoir science.
JUNE 1998 TO APRIL 2002
Nexen Inc. at their Winter field as the lead battery/field operator. We produced high volumes of water (18000 m3/d) along with 1600 m3/d oil which had an H2S content of 4%. My responsibilities as lead operator included maintaining plant efficiency and field operations which included 11 scud vessels, flue gas compressors, and booster stations. Other responsibilities included, plant turnarounds, training of new operators, and other special projects.
FEB 1996 TO MAY 1997
Wascana Energy as a fixed term field operator at their Winter field. My duties included operating and maintenance of 40 oil wells. I gained knowledge in computers and book keeping and also received many training courses.

Additional Information
Since I was 13 years old I’ve been an avid arm-wrestler in the World Armwrestling Federation. I’ve won a few provincial titles as well as a third place finish in the 1989 world competition in Athens, Greece. I also play guitar and have sang in many different country music shows. I enjoy hunting, fishing, and other various sports. I am happily married with two boys aged 16 and 11.
