Throughout my work experiences, I have been able to learn many aspects of the electrical trade, as well as other trade practices. In the electrical trade I had experience in heat trace, motor control wiring, fabrication of stands/supports tray construction, temporary power supplies, UPS systems, electrical lock outs, racking main breakers, buss transfers, instrumentation calibrations, MOV maintenance, panel troubleshooting, glanding large high voltage supplies ( 500/750 MCM), final turnover QA/QC and print reading and locating.

I also took a two year hiatus to pursue a career in safety, but I am still devoted to doing safety, electrical. In my time away from electrical, I worked and achieved my National Construction Safety Officer certification. I learned how to motivate people as the leader of the Workplace Health and Safety Team. I also learnt to delegate projects to appropriate team members. I was required on occasion to add/rewrite to company safety manuals to meet or exceed standards, procedures and practices that were weak or missing. As a safety officer I have worked with primarily electrical companies but have also worked with civil works, erectors (Iron workers), surveyors, small pile drilling rigs, carpenters, tank builders and prime contractors (engineering and owner groups). Being a leader or just part of a team has taught me to approach work with an open mind while ensuring the goal is met at an expected standard of time and professionalism.
