Pre-maintenance

Ben Rinnes, Angola, July 2008 – present, Rig Mechanic
Main duties include:
Provide pre-maintenance. Ensure all equipment is fully operational and that any problems are resolved in timely and efficient manner. Ensure Chief Engineer is appraised of daily events through various reports.

Transocean, June 2006 – July 2008, Offshore Rig Motorman/Ass Machanic
Main Duties include:
Ensure the smooth and safe running of the engine room. Provide pre-maintenance on main engines, drewworks, heat exchangers, HP compressors, watermakers, cold start compressors, rig air compressors and centrifugal pumps. Duties also included those of assistant mechanic as and when required. Reason for being motorman as opposed to mechanic was that previous employment as mechanic was on-shore and different experience is required for off-shore.

ILI Corporation, Feb 2003 – June 2004, Rig Mechanic On Shore
Main Duties include:
Running all duties on daily basis and follow PM’s.

RMF, Malta, 1993 – 1994, Mechanic
Main duties included:
Maintenance on light vehicles at the garage by day. At evenings, by roster, tow truck driver.

Recon Engineering, Libya 1991 – 1993, Mechanic
Main duties included:
All mainitenance work on Land Rovers which covered re-assembling engines, brakes and transmission systems.

Forex, 1989 – 1991, Rig Mechanic
Main duties included:
To maintain the oil rig with fuel daily and supply of water. Checking the compressors for condensation and time of running for servicing. Checking the main engine, on Caterpillars V12, for oil and coolant systems, and time of running for servicing. Checking the generators, Caterpillar Straight 6, for oil and coolant systems, and time of running for servicing. Responsible for the checking of the water well, pump and reservoir. Other duties would include checking the droyers for gear oil and greasing. Occasional servicing of generators and other power tools.

Main duties included:
Maintaining the compressors and assisting in the daily planning of the compression unit.
Marsa Garage, Health Department ( Trucks ), 1982 – 1986, Apprentice Mechanic
Main duties included:
Assisting the other mechanics in the day-to-day running of the garage. Attended Technical Institute 2 days per week.
