Career Objective
I want to prove myself to be an asset for any offshore company in the role as ROV pilot/tech and be involved in challenging projects for at least the next 20 years.
Professional Experience
15 years as an electronic technician fixing and installing satellite systems, car audio and alarms, televisions, computer sales, repair and installation and networking.
5 years experience on diamond mines in Angola and DRC as plant supervisor/operator, general foreman, chief sorter, electrician, central recovery plant manager and dive team pump supervisor.
I have also worked as security consultant in Zimbabwe on a Rio Tinto diamond mine.
2 month training experience as an ROV pilot/technician.
Eductation
12 years at Swartland High School - Matric with exemption
Cape technikon - 4 years for NHD Elec. Eng.(L/C) - Cum Laude
2 months as ROV pilot/tech at the Meralco foundation and IDESS (Philippines)
Certification
ND & NHD in electrical engineering (light current) - Cum Laude
Rov Pilot Technician certification.
BOSIET certified with UKOOA medical clearance.
3-in-1 Electronics course with Hign voltage, fibre optics and hydraulics.
Additional Information
I’m a 40 year young, South African, and I am proud of the challenges I've overcome. I've wanted to become involved in this industry for several years so the first chance I got, I went to do some courses at great expense to further my chances, but no luck so far. I am fortunately a very patient person by nature. I hold a ND and NHD in Electrical Engineering (Electronics) - 1993, ROV Pilot Technician Certificate, BOSIET and UKOOA medical, plus a 3_IN-1 Electronics with Fibre Optics/Hydraulics and High Voltage Certificate – 2008.
I have also had my own businesses covering satellite and audio installations and computer service/repair and networking, about ten years.
I’ve worked in Angola for 4 years and the DRC (Congo) on diamond mines until recently, through times of war as well.
I recently gained considerable experience with the Seaeye Surveyor Plus TMS in Nigeria.
I've always earned the respect of past colleagues and workers during my past project experiences, praised for my technical diversity, problem solving and PR skills with difficult employees.
I’m single with no dependants, very flexible and prepared to relocate and would love to become part of the ROV industry for at least the next twenty years.
