Professional Experience
Harvey Nash Plc
Account Manager for British Petroleum (BP)
November 2005 – February 2009
Harvey Nash is a highly reputable global professional services firm operating in 36 offices globally. I worked at the UK headquarters within its core business unit – IT Recruitment. I was the Account Manager for the UK’s largest client, British Petroleum (BP). I was responsible for managing the IT contract vacancies received from this Oil & Gas client as well as managing the full recruitment cycle. As well as having a sound knowledge of the IT function I also built up an understanding of the Oil & Gas industry.
I was also the Account Manager for IBM and Genesis Housing as well as working on other leading accounts in investment banking and media.
Starting as a Resourcer in 2005 I worked my way up to managing the largest account within Harvey Nash. I was promoted twice in one year and in my first year I was awarded the ‘Hardest Worker’ within the UK business at the annual awards. Most recently I had 40 contractors working for me which equates to approximately £47,500 in average weekly gross profit (based on last 3 months). As a result of successfully meeting monthly targets on a consistent basis I attended incentive trips skiing to the Italian Alps twice and also Ibiza.
My responsibilities included:
• Developing and maintaining positive client and candidate relationships and providing a high quality of service at all times
• People and relationship management
• Working with 3rd party vendors, on site recruitment personnel and Human Resources on a daily basis
• Implementing and managing PSL agreements adhering to SLA’s and KPI’s
• Performance monitoring on a monthly and quarterly basis
• Successfully meeting monthly targets on a consistent basis
• Developed detailed client knowledge
• Attending client meetings and conference calls on a regular basis
• Developed a broad technical understanding of IT skill sets to facilitate recruitment across the IT function
• Developed extensive candidate network through consultative approach
• Managed the end to end recruitment life-cycle including competency based interviews
• Client and candidate negotiation and offer management
• Meeting deadlines on a daily basis
• Attending Harvey Nash sponsored thought leadership events, networking with potential clients
• Cold calling and business development
