Operation technician

To align with the company policies with a special attention to safety, promote interpersonal skills, work towards improving equipment uptime, and above all to maintain and sustain the company productivity.

I worked for over spent 25 years in SPDC, rising from the position of Instrument Fitter to Instrument Supervisor. I currently hold a Higher National Diploma Certificate in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. My exposure in SPDC cuts across the verse facilities that abound in the company such as process facilities, pumps, compressors, generators, instruments, as well as exposure to people of different culture, norms, values and philosophies. These have broadened my horizon and improved my sense of imagination, power of analysis and interpersonal, negotiating and leadership skills. I have also acquired skills relating to advocacy and enquiry derived from issues management resulting from community disturbances, which is inherent in the environment we work. The resultant of these qualities is my ability to go beyond vertical reasoning towards lateral thinking in making decisions.

I also acquired technical competence in my field as an Instrument Engineer through exposure to varied training that cut across but not limited to the followings:

Basic electronics, production foreman, analogue and digital electronics, gas turbines, gas engine controls and over one year offshore exposure in Woodside Energy Limited (Australia) and the Shell Expro Platform North Sea (UK).

My extremely high level of safety awareness and competence derived itself from critical training exposure to the followings:

Accident investigation, Hazardous area electrical/instrumentation equipment, Introduction to HSE, HUET, Fire fighting and BA training, managing hazards, First Aid, manual handling training and exposure to offshore safety both in the Australian and UK environment.

Amongst my capabilities are the ability to work under pressure and still deliver quality job on time and within delaines, ability to face challenges and still retain my focus and ability to forge ahead even though the world is against me, believing in myself and my vision but not divorcing the corporate objectives of the organisation for which I work.
