Professional Experience
Over 25 years of working in the Industrial Automation arena, past experience includes an extensive combination of industrial control applications and design, within numerous manufacturing environments. Ranging from “continuous process” and “batch” oriented control, to “custom” original equipment manufacturing systems integration. Performing total electrical project engineering and management from the beginning conceptual phase of controls application design, through system start-up, commissioning, de-bug, customer acceptance and support.
Relationships within different industries include the following:
“consumer products”, original equipment manufacturing and assembly, automobile manufacturing, automotive vendor “parts” assembly, automotive safety products manufacturing, general automated packaging process, tire manufacturing, tobacco process, chemical process control, general food and beverage process and packaging, S02 and C02 sequestration in a power generation environment.
Specific responsibilities and tasks include the “defining” of control system requirements for specific client customer projects, technical writing of control functional specifications, logic and flow diagrams (where required), MCC and control panel layout and hardware selection, presentation of electrical design and specifications (where required), cost estimating, purchase ordering, schedule management and project installation oversight. PLC I/O design and hardware design, PLC logic software standards design, programming and configuration of specialized peripheral interfacing, PID “Loop Control”, machine diagnostic and trending software development. “hands on” field service and support.
Specialized control applications include general machine control, X-Y-Z servo axis positioning and control, RFID tag part tracking and bar code identification, “power and free” conveyor assembly, VFD (Drives) control and application configuration, “real time” electronic testing, weighing and measurement control, (LVDT and Load Cell), PID loop control, electronic instrumentation, machine diagnostic fault and alarming, statistical process control, custom microprocessor and peripheral interfacing, factory floor LAN networking, Ethernet, HMI (Human Machine Interface), application development, custom process control.
