Procurement Engineer (Mechnica)

To review/assess technical Specificaton and Drawings to determine suitable vendors and suppliers.

To prepare inquiry documents about commercial standards, technical specifications, BOQ’s, as per Company requirements.

Responsible for the purchase of goods and services including supplier’s transaction,delivery, payment follow ups, market research and analysis.

Assessing the requirement of item(s), drafting of Tender Documents/Terms of Reference.

Obtain and analyze quotations and negotiate total cost elements for assigned portfolio.

Getting the tender advertisement published in the leading newspaper for the interest/information of general public, specialized suppliers, general order suppliers and various other authorities.

Participation in Tender Opening Meetings, preparaing evaluation reports and executive summaries (comparing cost and quality offered by each bidder in the tender) and presenting the technical & commercial evaluation reports to the competent forum.

Issuance of Letter of Intent to the technically acceptable and commercially viable bidder.

Negotiations with the approved bidder(s), about the rate and other terms and conditions of the contract.

Negotiate commercial terms of a contract, prepares the contracts and negotiates terms of contract with subcontractors or suppliers

Issuance of work orders to the selected bidders, scrutiny of payment documents while forwarding the case to Accounts for payments.

Preparing request for establishing Letter of Credit from the respective bank.

Dealing matters regarding Letter of credit/ Purchase order amendment.

Shipments follow up and updates. Taking up matters like short shipped material/wrong shipped material
with the suppliers.


Handling matters regarding demurrage recovery from the suppliers and replacement of defective
equipment/material within warranty period.

Scrutiny of shipping documents before forwarding to Logistics Department.

Managing/Rating supplier(s) performance and taking corrective action in improving services of poor performing
suppliers.
