Professional Experience
Summary of Morgan Seim’s skills, training, and experience
1. Experienced in the operation, maintenance, and repair of hydraulic fracturing, cementing, and coil tubing equipment. Have nearly four years of experience working domestically in the US and in India and China, frequently working in remote locations with little or no supervision, operating and repairing such engines as DDC Series 60, 71, 92, 149, and 4000. Some experience with Caterpillar and Cummins engines.
2. Have extensive experience with SPM/OPI triplex fluid ends, SPM QWS 2500 fluid ends, and Gardner Denver fluid ends, and BJ Services Pacemaker cement pumps. Familiar with most faults and failure modes of power end and fluid end lubrication systems, and have a great deal of experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electric engine starting systems. I am quickly able to recognize signs of impending failure on nearly all types of equipment, often averting unplanned equipment downtime.
3. Have taken the initiative to provide my district’s equipment operators with the necessary training needed for proper operation and preventive maintenance of the fracturing equipment used by BJ Services. I have provided a brief, written set of instructions to all equipment operators within my district, and routinely conduct impromptu training sessions to upgrade our equipment operators’ knowledge level. I am a firm believer in a rigorously enforced maintenance program, in that properly performed preventive maintenance minimizes unnecessary corrective maintenance.
4. Since being employed by BJ Services, I have attended the following training classes: Air systems and brakes, Steering and alignment, DDEC 3, 4, and 5, Seahawk (a cement unit) Maintenance, and Front Line Leadership. In addition, I have over twenty years of experience operating in an almost exclusively deadline-driven environment in the U. S. Navy, and have an extensive record of formal vocational training, as well as being certified as a journeyman Maintenance Mechanic (any industry) by the U.S. Department of Labor.
