I have 18 years experience in the logistics department in the South African Navy with expertise in the following: Supervision, Organisation, Training, Maintenance, Safety, Stock-Taking, Stock/Inventory Management, Stock Verification, Auditing, Stock/Equipment Ordering, Receiving, Issuing and Dispatching.
1 year experience as a warehouse supervisor on night shift on board a Smedvig Asia Ltd semi-submersible drilling-rig in the Congo, with expertise in the following: Receiving, checking and organizing drilling equipment and storeroom stock, back loading and manifesting equipment ashore, stock taking and stock verification, posting of issued items on computerized system (TAG), operating Chemwatch MSDS System, maintaining certification records for lifting appliances, completing monthly reports for materials supervisor, cleanliness and tidiness of warehouse. I’m was employed as a storeman onboard a semi-submersible drilling rig, the Pride South Seas, operating in South African waters and was promoted to materials man. I was responsible for the raising materials requisition, inventory control, receiving/issuing of drilling equipment physically and on the computerized system (MAXIMO). I was responsible for manifesting and organizing the back loading of all equipment/material and chemicals to shore via supply vessels. I ensured that all chemicals are packed and labeled as per IMDG Code. I was employed by KCA DEUTAG Drilling GmbH as Onshore Senior Materials man in Soyo, Angola. I coordinated materials and equipment shore side including the importation of goods and setting up working relationships with 3rd parties on the base.
I am well computer literate and do have SAP knowledge. I have an excellent knowledge of most drilling equipment and mechanical/electrical spares.
