Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a 1500 HP Cabot drilling rig package, equipped with Top Drive, during new well development in the Block 50 field located in southern Yemen for Korean National Oil Company (KNOC). As toolpusher, supervised and trained a drilling crew of over 20 personnel in the safe operation, testing and maintenance of the drilling package and auxiliary equipment during all phases of operations – set-up, drilling, tear down and movement – in order to meet schedule and cost milestones. Supervised accurate placement, measurement and safe operation of Bottom Hole Assemblies (BHA) and third party ‘measurement while drilling’ (MWD) systems to meet contract specifications. Prepared and transmitted daily electronic reporting, BHA configuration and status, pipe tallies and pre-tour well control data. Demonstrated and promoted company safety policies, utilizing job safety analyses (JSA's) and pre-job safety meetings, to minimize incidents. Acted as a primary liaison with KNOC Drilling Supervisors, supporting contractors including geologists, well-logging operators, directional drilling contractors, cementing service companies and food/hotel service personnel. Additionally, was responsible for ensuring compliance with all local and national government permitting requirements and regulations as well as effective communications with local and indigenous nationals.
