Operations and Project Manager with Trinidadian, Australian and UK Operations, Project, Petroleum and Drilling experience

To utilise my current industry experience to lead operations or projects teams to build or operate production facilities that are safe, efficient and focused on continuous improvement.

23 years industry experience. The first 12 years being with Mobil in the North Sea and the remaining 11 years with BHPBilliton, 7 years in Australia as OIM and then Australian Operations Manager and 4 years in Trinidad as the Operations Manager.
As Operations Manager I led the Operations, Engineering, Supply and Logistics and IT teams. I was responsible and accountable to deliver a business that operated safely and efficiently whilst also being designed to focus on continuous improvement. In my last 4 years assignment in Trinidad, there were no lost time injuries, production efficiency increased from 75% to over 96% and spend was maintained within annual production Opex budgets. In addition I was responsible for reviewing and or developing all major contracts for the Operations.

I have led 2 major projects and many smaller projects. The first project was a US$250MM subsea development and tie back to an existing platform for Mobil North Sea. The second project as a subsea pipeline installation for BHPBilliton in Australia.

I have approximately 5 years of drilling supervisory and engineering experience from the North Sea as well as leading a petroleum engineering team.

Educated in the UK.
Attended Heriot Watt University in Scotland. Graduated with a 2-1 BSc hons in Offshore Chemical Engineering in 1985. Degree majored in Chemical engineering but contained extra modules to prepare myself for entry into the offshore industry. Examples of Modules include: Dynamics of structures, Environmental, Petroleum Engineering, Marine Engineering.
