Worked as Hydraulic Fitter on Construction of Saldanha Steel : Continuous Caster, Electric Arc Furnace, Ladle Heating Furnace Hydraulic systems including:
a. Hydraulic Pipe work from Hydraulic Room from pumps to Valve Stands to various tie over points.
b. Charging, Flushing, Tracing and Connecting, Commissioning.
Installations done by bending 8mm up to 42mm stainless steel and carbon steel hydraulic tubing as well as installing ½” up to 24” stainless steel and carbon steel schedule piping.

Mittal Steel

a. As Hydr. Specialist I was in charge of flushing of pipe work at Corex in conjunction with Raur Rine Chem. For CBI. b. I repaired various makes of Hydr. Pumps, Motors, Cylinders & Valves in the workshop and on site. d. Assisted in planning, building cleaning and commissioning of Hydr.
Power Packs & test Benches,Accumulator Syst for Pendulum Shear Hydr.
Syst, Portable Tap Floor Drill for Corex, 3” refull line for Oil from Total

f. Lead day shift repairing Elec. Arc Furnace Shell 1 after Burn Through.
g. Lead night shift repairing same at Shell 2 after Burn Through.
h. Modified Grease-, Hydr-, and Water piping on Continuous Caster Segments to simplify changing and maintenance of segments.
