i. Manager Utilities
o To manage the smooth and safe operation of steam boilers, water treatment plants cooling towers, effluent treatment plant and RO plants to manage and ensure the supply of steam, water, cooling water, fuel oil, fuel gas and instrument / plant air to process units to the complete satisfaction of down stream process units for meeting production targets.
o Trouble shooting, controlling process variables and setting parameters.
o Annual budget preparation.
o To plan modification for cost and quality improvement of products of respective units.
o To manage training of operators and engineers for better results.
o Scheduling of preventive maintenance to avoid breakdown.
o To manage for the implementation of OHSAS and EMS Management System.
ii. Has also worked as a Coordinator for Pre-commissioning and Post-commissioning activities of Boiler House and Utilities Section, Water Treatment Plant of Lube-II Refinery in 1983 – 84. steam boiler of 64 tons per/h with 40 bar & 450 °C temperature was commissioned under my supervision.
A new Boiler of 70 tons capacity 40 bar 400 °C also in the commissioning phase in National Refinery under my supervision.


iii. Have also officiated as Manager Production Lube-II Refinery for about four (04) years.
This section of refinery comprises of:
o Vacuum de-asphalting unit (VDU)
o Propane de-asphalting unit (PDA)
o Furfural extraction unit (EFU)
o Methyl Ethyl Ketons unit (MEK)
iv. I have worked as Shift Coordinator of all three refineries and coordinated the activities related to operation maintenance and general administration, in shifts for smooth running of refinery particularly with reference to safety and production.
v. Have worked on de-potation as a Process Chief for the startup OGDC DAHKNI Development Project. Sour gas processing, NGL fraction, LPG recovery unit and sulphur recovery unit. At this project I actively took part in the Pre-commissioning, commissioning and Post-commissioning activities. The project successfully commissioned in 1990

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY :

About 35 years experience with heavy chemical and petroleum refinery.

Present Position
Retired from National Refinery Limited, A heavy Petrochemical Complex on 11th May, 2009, after attaining the age of superannuation. I have served National Refinery Limited for about 28 years at different units in various capabilities. Before joining NRL I have also worked in Ravi Rayon Limited, Lahore, a heavy chemical complex, for a period of Seven (07) years. At the time of retirement was working as a Manager Utilities and was at this position for the last more then twelve (12) years.
