Chemist/ Laboratory Technician

I am currently seeking the opportunity to progress in the Petroleum Laboratory industry.I have 5 years experience as a Chemist/Lab tech and have been in the oil industry for over 3 years.

-Set-up, adjust, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments needed for tests, research, or process control.
-Keep precise and detailed records.
-Compute and analyze results of tests and experiments.
-Contribute to the solution of chemical-related problems.
-Assure an adequate supply of materials/inventory is available to analyze various products per the ASTM, IAC, UOP, IP, Industry Standard, and Customer Test Methods.
-I troubleshoot instrumentation problems, calibrations, SQC, and other Quality Assurance practices and protocols where applicable. -Certified for safety in all aspects of hazards material. -Performed Aqua-Glo, API, Flash Point, Distillation, Pour Point, Freeze Point, Particulate Matter, Copper Strip Corrosion, Existent Gum, and Water Reaction tests on daily/weekly basis. -Sample tested JP8, MOGAS, Diesel and Lube Oil. -Became very familiar with various regulations and manuals suck as: ASTM, MIL STD 3004A, FM 10-67-2 and FM 10-67-1.
-Kept detailed laboratory records and files.
-Received samples of petroleum products.
-Cleaned, sterilized, and calibrated laboratory equipment and instruments.
-Utilized prepared graphs and charts to record test results on standardized forms, and prepared test reports describing procedures used.
-Tested fuels and oils for water, sediment, and other contaminants utilizing various laboratory equipment.
-Applied fire prevention and safety control procedures in handling petroleum, oils, lubricant’s, and various other hazardous materials. - Obtained petroleum test samples from storage tanks, barges and tankers.
-Evaluated test results with specification requirements and made recommendations regarding product disposition.
