Moved to the UAE to establish W.R. Grace’s foothold in this strategically important region of the world. Responsible for growing the business across all product lines which include Construction chemicals and Oil and gas catalysts. Manage the implementation and execution of all strategic initiatives including feasibility studies of investment opportunities, business valuation models development; commercial/operational due diligence on Brownfield and Greenfield investments as well as post acquisition and integration. High level contract negotiations as well as communicating strategic initiatives to senior management back in the United states.
Recruited and hired a team to expand existing business. Led the activities to acquire/Start J.V.’s in several locations (Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon) to grow our market share and sustain our margins. Quadrupled the business in the short time here ($300M) and am very active to continue the growth of W.R. Grace in the region through strategic investments with key partners. Leading the recruitment activity to insure we continue to attract and retain quality personnel. Established policies and procedures on Quality, ethics, and customer focus in our factories and our regional offices and established local technical resources to better serve our customers. We recently launched a new corporate regional Office in Dubai that houses all functional personnel becoming the focal point of the region for growth and investments in the Middle-East. Work directly with the Board of directors in creating new investment strategies geared to maximize the value Contribution of “Emirates Chemicals”. Working with our distinguished JV partner to legislate certain policies that are driving the use of “Green construction“ chemicals in the UAE and the gulf.

Overview: recruited to lead this practice focusing on providing eCom-enabled integrated procurement solutions for Fortune 500 clients. Personally assure service to all key accounts including Swedish Match, Accenture, Crown Cork & Seal, and Procter & Gamble. ICG's major platform was an online system to manage purchase & payment and the entire fulfillment process with a full complement of features including one-time, exception, or special orders and direct/indirect goods distinction.
Challenge: lead the organization to the next stage of its evolution. Responsibilities included driving revenue growth while further developing the organization’s infrastructure.
Bottom-Line: increased revenues by 500% in first six months (from $5 to $25MM).
Major Contributions: HR--attracted a superlative, multilingual team co-headquartered in Paris and Frankfurt and developed a performance-based incentive framework motivating over-achievement.
M&A--spearheaded two software company acquisitions credited with positioning ICG as a key market player; each firm held niche market advantages but no way to properly exploit them; specifically contributed to developing the wider framework for service delivery.
