Heerema Marine Contractors work is the installation of deepwater infrastructures consisting of pipelines, flow lines, umbilicals & subsea structures and onshore fabrication of the risers, piles and production flow lines.
My work is to give professional advice to the yard team, QESH and others in all matters related to HSE including implications of legal HSE matters, to verify and stimulate that all activities are carried out in a safe and sound manner as per relevant QESH procedures and that all required HSE related precautions are taken. And to ensure HSE records are kept as per procedure, to ensure that persons are informed with regard to relevant QESH matters, to ensure proper preparation of JSA’s and proper toolbox talks are conducted, to provide HSE related trainings and to initiate and conduct HSE meetings, to provide professional HSE input in HAZIDS / HAZOPS when requested and to ensure correct HSE incident reporting.
To direct and carry out evaluations of the Safety Officers as required.
Carry out root Cause analysis when required (Tripod Beta), to perform incident investigations and reporting, to assist during HSE related audits and to ensure that Permit to Work (PTW) system is followed. I am responsible for verify adherence to company policy and guidelines, to act as HSE representative for HMC to client representatives or authorities as necessary, to ensure proper maintenance of HSE and emergency equipment in co-operation with the yard Maintenance Supervisor in accordance with the planned maintenance system and to request for HSE equipment/materials and to promote HSE awareness and improve HSE culture with all persons.

Year 2008 (October) to April. Lead CSO, Safety Adviser. Eni Saipem. Total E&P Norway Frigg Field Cessation Project (Decommission) North Sea.
Saipem´s scope of work was to carry out the preparation for hookdown, removal operations and transportation of the CDP1 platform with Saipem 7000 vessel. I Worked closely with the Total EP Safety Superintendent’s and the field Engineers. Responsible for providing guidance and overseeing Health and Safety for the workforce. Participated with the Clients safety audits, inspections and weekly meetings. Conducted JSA’s on daily basics, held daily toolbox talks
