Supervision of the loading section and relieving the team supervisor when unavailable. Ensuring that all new employees are correctly trained to carry out their duties. Ensuring adherence to SHERQ, legal standards and procedures within the loading section, investigating irregularities in coordination with the loading team supervisor. Ensuring that employees adhere to the correct PPE requirements and whether they are fit before commencement of the shift. Validation of all relevant train loading documentation, including train loading reports, truck lists and consignment notes. Communication with Transnet Rail Freight Services Beeshoek, -Kimberley and -Saldanha regarding the train loading process and reporting whether on or behind schedule. Continuous monitoring of work output throughout the shift and delegating responsibilities and duties to subordinates. Inspection of fines, lumpy and scaw stockpiles to determine readiness for loading (no irregular objects) Supervising pre-inspection of the loading plant and equipment (structures, belts, idlers, chutes, railway lines, locos, front-end loaders, PLC’s and scada). Acting as liaison between Management and Loading personnel on shift. Shift holds the record (3/2008) for the most tons loaded in one shift (128 wagons/11136t)
