I am interested in finding a challenging position in the oil industry. I did Offshore Survival and Fire Fighting at the end of May. My previous contract (in the Middle East) has ended.

Professional Experience


Explodable Ordinance Detection Technologies. 2006 – present
Security Manager.
· Restructured the Standard Operating Procedure.
· Incidents resulting in serious injury or fatalities down from 7 in the last quarter of 2006 to nil in the first quarter of 2007).
· Awarded the US Army Core of Engineers Certificate of Appreciation for service excellence.

Comwaste. 2000 – 2005
Owner and Manager.
· Undertook a study of waste management of the communal residential sector (Hotels, apartment buildings, complexes, etc.) using statistics and research. This resulted in major restructuring of municipal regulation and tax implications to the citizens. Implemented the use of manual labour for the collection of waste as opposed to automation. This is still the standard with commercial waste removal companies in the city today. Introduced a new cost saving technique, now a standard, of raising the PH of acidic effluents to be de listed from the “Hazzmat List” for the purpose of discharging into the municipal sewage system.

Fort Foundry 2003 – 2005. Owner & Manager. Built vacuum moulds and lids. Achieved exceptionally high Toyota standards regarding tolerances specified.

East Cape Feed Systems.1998 -2000. Owner and Manager. Introduced higher quality installations for automated feed systems.

New Design Equipment.1996 – 1998. Machine Designer, Electrician and Management. Designed and built a “High Volume Agitator” for the purpose of agitating fluids, evaporating combustible gasses, (solvents, acids, etc.) with no electrical components to reduce the risk of ignition. Designed and built a number of specialised truck bodies. These and similar derivatives are used all over the City of Port Elizabeth today.

Omni Engineering. 1995 – 1996. Operational Manager. Assisting in the redrafting of company policies for the purpose of adhering to the PDI requirements program for economical empowerment, initiated by the local government at the time.

Lulatech Recycling.1993 - 1995. Manager. Acquired a contract at the main municipal landfill refuse dump for Port Elizabeth for the purpose of paper recycling and became the first high volume paper recycler in the Eastern cape.

Port Elizabeth Municipality 1987 – 1993. Electrician. Served Electrical Apprenticeship and qualified in 1991

- Electrical & Mechanical engineering, levels 5.
East Cape Training Centre.
