• Inspect turbine parts to check dimensional requirements and clearances using outside and inside micrometer, calipers, taper gauge, cylinder gauge, and other measuring instruments, records measurements for evaluation and reference. •

• Removes all lagging and insulation, thermocouple of main turbine.

• perform run-out check of couplings such as main oil pump, high pressure and low pressure, low pressure and generator, generator and exciter coupling using precision and calibrated dial indicator record the finding or evaluation reference for the future.

• Removes all upper half bearings respectively by loosening bolts and thermocouples. Put at least one (1) mm. Diameter lead wires on the tope of journal (shaft) and put back and tightening bolts, removes bolts and upper half bearings, get the lead wire (pinch check) and measure it by outside micrometer for evaluation and reference for checking and actual clearance of bearings to shaft, record all clearances at the log book for future reference.

• Removes bolts and casings to gain access to parts through inspection.

Prepare the lifting devices into the overhead crane and perform lifting of each rotor (turbine) using jackscrews and put the turbine rotors to their carrier for cleaning and crack testing of shaft and blades.

• Removes all lower half bearings and coupled both lower and upper half bearing, clean all and check the dimension of bearing to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using inside and outside micrometer, records all necessary data for future references.

• Performs crack check using magnetic particles or dye penetrate and submit them to immediate supervisors for evaluation and remedial action respectively.

• May set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metal working tools to fabricate, repair or replace of parts.

• Removes all stationary blades both in the lower and upper half casings. Clean them with the help of power brush, sandpaper, or needier and blasting process to make it clean very well.

• Prepare for metal testing or crack check magnetic particles dye penetrant and other related crack testing devices to check if theirs possible jobs or replacements of blades and to inspect parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
