Project Engineer

To work in the Oil World with a quest for knowledge and to discover, innovate and excel as an engineer by the virtue of my technical skills and commitment to the job assigned.

Presently working in HINDUSTAN PETROLEUM CORPORATION LIMITED (HPCL) Reputed Integrated Public Sector Oil Company of India. Working as Project Engineer since last four years in CENTRAL ENGINEERING Department , which is located in Corporate House Mumbai. My Project is LUBE OIL BASE STOCK (LOBS) QUALITY UPGRADATION Project in Refinery .It’s a Mega Project of Total cost of RS 1030 Crore & Schedule Completion Period is April 2010.

Requirement of this Project:
At present,Rrefinery produces various grades of LOBS with sulphur above 300 ppm and saturates below 90%, which fall under API Gr-I category. Customer requirement & market demand is for LOBS quality with sulphur below 300 ppm and saturates above 90%, which falls under API Gr-II category. Hence, to retain/increase market share of LOBS,Refinery intends to improve LOBS specifications to API Gr-II category with a future capability to produce API Gr-III.
Project Implementation Philosophy:
1)Finalization of Process Licensor for preparation of BDEP. Presently M/s Exxon Mobile is our Process Licensor.
2)Appointment of Project Management Consultant M/s Jacobs Engineering Pvt. Ltd. for, BDED of Utilities & Offsite, Procurement of Long Lead Items (LLIs), FEED for LSTK Block and Overall Project Management Service including Construction Management & Supervision.
3)Procurement of Long Lead Items (LLIs) and free issue to LSTK Contractor.
4)Implementation of ISBL facilities by LSTK mode through EPCC Contractor
5)Implementation of OSBL facilities (Utilities & Offsite) by Conventional mode through PMC

Responsibility of Central Engineering:
Central Engineering (CE) is responsible for all pre project activities, development of BDEP, engineering of OSBL facilities and procurement activities till appointment of LSTK Contractor and various orders for OSBL facilities. Construction phase handled by project group of Refinery with construction management by PMC. Macro level monitoring of the project during construction phase handled by CE.
