I have over 20 years of work experience in the fields of accounting, finance, budget and administration with private, governmental, non-governmental organizations and the United Nations, with past responsibilities in accounts analysis, audit of payments and financial documents, ensuring compliance with financial rules and regulations, preparation and monitoring of operational budgets, preparation of budgetary reports, preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports. I also perform current responsibilities at UNAMA, including the approval of financial obligations, disbursement of funds for services, supplies and equipment, as well as those pertaining to personnel, ensuring they are accurate and in accordance with the Financial Regulations and Rules of the UN. Approval of payments to vendors/suppliers and staff, ensuring compliance of the UN Financial rules and regulations of the UN that govern obligations and direct expenditures. Approval and verification of calculations of claims, Cash Receipt Vouchers (CRV), journal vouchers in connection with the charges to UN Agencies and other missions, ensuring compliance. Analysis of Accounts Payable (A/P) of Vendors/Suppliers and Accounts Receivable (A/R), such as Travel Advances, Lump sum Family Visit/Home Leaves and advances to Regional Administrative Officers in relation to construction/renovation of offices, ensuring accuracy and compliance the Financial Rules and Regulations of the UN. Verification and approval of bank transfer instructions to all UNAMA maintained bank accounts. Monitoring of financial activities of regional offices and advising Regional Administrative Officers on the application of UN Financial rules and regulations.
