Engro Chemical Pakistan Ltd is a 2800 MeT per day Urea Manufacturing Complex. Working as Environment, Industrial Hygiene and Quality Assurance Engineer includes:
• Execution of external & internal surveillance audits of management systems for Quality, Environment, Safety and Social Accountability. Subsequent development & stewardship of action plans to address non-conformances and observations to maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and SA 8000 certifications.
• Effluent and emission parameters monitoring for compliance of National Environmental Quality Standards (NEQS) and applicable environmental laws.
• Monthly environmental reporting to governmental agency and company management.
• Preparation and reporting of annual Environmental Foot Print on the basis of key performance indices (KPI’s) addressing natural resources consumption, hazardous & non-hazardous wastes, effluents, emissions (GHG, CFC, dust), vehicular emissions, site energy index, etc.
• Data collection, reporting and benchmarking for International Fertilizer Manufacturers’ Association (IFA) emissions survey based upon Best Available Technique (BAT) levels defined by European Fertilizer Manufacturers’ Association (EFMA) in response to EU Directive on integrated pollution prevention and control (IPPC Directive).
• Coordination of Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) of ECPL fertilizer expansion project.
• Activities: Incident reporting, investigation & stewardship thru Safety MIS, Pre Startup Safety Review (PSSR), Management Safety Audits (MSA), weekly and quarterly emergency response drills, safety orientations, housekeeping audits, etc.
• Personnel Safety Management (PSM) and Process Safety & Risk Management (PSRM).
• Launch of OHIH Revamp program under the guidelines of DuPont for OSHA compliance.
• Hazardous waste management program development and disposal of spent catalyst and chromate sludge for recycle / reuse in metal extraction.
• Worked on natural resources conservation and energy conservation.
• Development of Environment & IH specifications along with MSDS Dossier updating.
• Industrial Hygiene surveys for noise, ammonia, illumination, dust and catering.
• Six Sigma Green Belt project on reduction in paper consumption in ECPL.
