His past and present research concerns petroleum, shale oil and shale gas exploration in the Thrace – Black Sea – Caspian Sea Basins, and the Middle East – Taurus - Eastern Mediterranean Basins. His works have been supported by the Scientific Research Projects Coordination Unit of Istanbul University, Istanbul Technology Transfer Inc., Turkish Petroleum Company, Vermilion Energy of Canada, Petroleum Affiars of Turkey.
