SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE

Chemical Engineer with 10+ years of experience in India and Abroad in process and system design for conceptual studies, FEED and detail engineering projects for Refineries, Petrochemical and Chemical plants covering a wide range of projects in various fields. Mainly includes development of heat and material balances, PFSs, DPDT diagrams, Control narratives and P&IDs.
Hydraulics for single phase and two phase flow systems including steam and condensate system. Sizing of pumps, cooling tower, vessels, control valves, relief valves and etc. Preparation of equipment, instrument specification sheets, cause and effect diagrams.
Development of schemes for improving the plant performance in which working knowledge of codes like API, ASME, ANSI and TEMA was required for equipment sizing apart from detailed process calculations. Prepare and review specification for various modifications of existing system to improve productivity and reduce energy consumption.
Review of supplier technical documents to ensure compliance to good design, basic practices, requirements and standards. Participated in plant/project Hazop studies and responses to Hazop actions.

NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS

1. Got appreciation from Crude complex plant Manager/Owner for handling shutdown (Dec’03) activities smoothly with single handedly. Got appreciation for Parallel pump operation (similar and dissimilar pumps) hydraulics calculation for Vacuum Residue, Reduced Crude Oil pumps.

TECHNICAL PAPER PUBLISHED

1. Published a Technical paper titled “Centrifugal pump selection for revamp, expansion and debottlenecking projects in refinery” in Hydrocarbon Processing journal of May 2005 edition.
2. Published a Technical paper titled “Review of design and other parameters for pump selection” in Hydrocarbon Asia of July/August 2005 and November/December 2005 edition and Petromin of July 2005 and August 2005 edition.
