Internship:

4 weeks intensive training in operations and supply department of Pakistan Refinery Limited, Karachi that included:

• In-house training on:

o Health, safety and environment
o Emergency response planning and fire drill
• Reporting:

o Operations and processes of the plant
o Refinery related plant design projects

• Determination of Research Octane Number (RON) on test engine
• Influenced to earn 3 projects for plant design for the students of the university
• Presentation and submission of overall internship activities as thesis to the refinery and the University

1- Plant design project report on “Hydrodesulphurization of 2300 MTD of Kerosene and Gas Oil at Pakistan Refinery Limited, Karachi” wherein:

• Determined cost of the overall plant
• Designed equipment for the plant (reactor, heat exchanger, etc)
• Determined environmental and safety aspects
• Designed instrumentation for the process control

2- Mini-Project Report of Unit Process on “Manufacturing of Epoxy and Polyester Resin” where documented and presented:

• Mechanism
• Thermodynamics and
• Kinetics of the key-process involved
