EXPERIENCE SUMMER INTERN, ConocoPhillips, San Juan Business Unit, Farmington, NM (Summer 2009)
Worked as a summer reservoir engineer over the Fruitland Coal in the LPA (low productive area) of the OPE (over-pressured coal). Employed Schlumberger’s Eclipse software to perform a simulation study to determine if 80-acre infill is economically beneficial to recovery of reserves along state line of New Mexico and Colorado. Updated pressure and recovery factor maps of area, constructed relative permeability curves, estimated mobile water porosity, and calculated pressure-dependant permeability from pressure and production data.
SUMMER INTERN, ConocoPhillips Alaska: WNS Base, Anchorage, Alaska (Summer 2008)
Worked as a summer production engineer over the Alpine field on the North Slope of Alaska. Focused on fracture stimulation and flowback management. Learned about rock mechanics, pipe erosion, flowback procedures, and fracture stimulation procedures. Investigated proppant flowback and erosion problem and made recommendation on proppant type and future flowback management. Performed well tests, updated the Alpine Fracture Stimulation Database, and worked on optimization of IGOR of Alpine drill sites.
SUMMER INTERN, Devon Energy Corporation, Barnett Shale, Bridgeport, TX (Summer 2007)
Worked in rotation of all departments in the Bridgeport office: Land, Drilling construction, Drilling, Completions, Facilities construction, Production. Observed MIRU, vertical, curve, and lateral drilling, surface casing and cementing, fishing operations, open-hole logging, etc. Learned about cased-hole logging, cement squeeze, and enhanced knowledge of perforation and fracture stimulation. Watched the installation of tank batteries, separators, and flowlines. Researched the effectiveness of foamer application, created liquid loading curves for lease operators and lead a training session on their usage.
