• Carrying out activities to ensure the safe and efficient functioning of all mechanical aspects of the Topside facility
• The safe condition of all machinery, that it is operated in a safe manner and that all operations are carried out according to correct and safe procedures as directed
• Monitoring of machinery to ensure efficient operation, to minimize fuel and oil consumption and to ensure maximum availability of machinery at all times as directed by the Maintenance SV
• Carrying out maintenance as directed by the Maintenance SV and Maintenance Manuals
• Assistance with operations of the following systems as required by Operations Supervisor:
• Oil Production Systems
• Utility Systems
• The good working order of all emergency plant and equipment at all times
• Watchkeeping duties if required including making regular tours of inspection of machinery and ensuring that accurate readings are obtained for the completion of logbooks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor
• Efficient and economic use of spare equipment
• Complete all Training as directed by the company including Onboard Familiarization
• Hot work activities as required
• Enclosed Vessel Entry as required
• Chemical handling
• Bilge transfer
• Isolation of plant and equipment
• Acting as a nominated delegated Area Authority when required

A. Performs work direction to a group of machinist technicians generally in the range of from 2-4 personnel.
B. Locates equipment faults and operating irregularities by making the necessary diagnostically tests, measurements and analyses. This may
be done with equipment in place in the field or, if necessary, by stripping equipment down in field or shop. Determines nature of repairs to be
made and replacement parts required.
C. Performs necessary maintenance on assigned equipment, stripping down, replacing, fabricating or re-machining parts as required.
Reassembles equipment, runs operating tests to ensure satisfactory repair.
D. Performs high-skilled diagnostic and machinist tasks as required.
E. Prepares new or altered installations on all types of mechanical equipment including foundation work, line-up, gear box, coupling and
speed control settings, then test runs for acceptance.
F. Sets, adjusts and performs maintenance on machine tool equipment and balancing machines.
G. Provides general guidance and work direction for assigned crew members.
H. Trains lower level Machinists as required.
I. Performs any other job-related tasks.
