Mining Engineer

As an enthusiastic and hard working Engineer, My prime objective is to attain a challenging position in the field of Mining Engineering and desire to work in a competative environment.

01.
Currently work as a mining engineer in MAEDA NISHIMATSU JOINT VENTURE (MNJV), No 73, Jawatta Road, Colombo-05, Sri Lanka.

• Mining Engineer :- Upper Kothmale Hydropower Project,
Cost of the project is over Rs: 11 billion. MNJV is the main contractor for all civil works of waterways (Tunnels, Shaft), Underground Powerhouse, Access tunnel, Cable tunnel and Dam with Head pond. Construction of Headrace Tunnel is 12.5km long and 5.8m in diameter from dam to shaft bottom.

I have worked fulltime as an Engineering trainee in Bogala Graphite Lanka Ltd for my industrial training in six months period (24 weeks from 01st of February 2006 to 19th of July 2006) and obtained an overall training experience in underground and surface divisions.

• Trainee Mining Engineer :- Bogala Graphite Lanka Ltd
• All aspects of Underground Cut and fill mining including Tunnel Blasting , Production Blasting, Driving, Winzing, Underground Survey, Ground Survey and specially labour handling and Administration etc.

• Graphite processing techniques such as hand sorting and Froth flotation including milling (ball mill, micron mill, BR mill) and Laboratory testing for graphite.

Social works:

• Organized the Annual Sports and Cultural Festival which was done by Earth Resources Engineering Society under the IRQUE project.
• Supported and coordinated the Awareness program on the department of Earth Resources Engineering, university of Moratuwa, to familiarize the newly introduced study streams among the student communities in schools.
• Organized all the functions & activities, which was organized by the Earth Resources Engineering Society (ERES).
• Organized all the functions & activities, which was organized by the School Science Society.
• Supported and coordinated the all social activities which were conducted by School Interact Club.
