Professional Experience
I was employed in the South African Navy for 16 years. I started out as a marine fitter apprentice and after qualifying I joined one of the navy's vessels. I obtained all my tickets (watchkeeping certificates) and my Chief Engineer's Certificate within the navy. I sailed as chief engineer of a vessel producing 3940kw for 2 years. During my years in the navy I obtained vast amount of experience and can maintain,repair and troubleshoot most mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment. I joined Transocean in July 2008 and was employed as trainee rig mechanic on the fast tracking programme (Mid career hire). Within 3 months of hiring me I progressed to the position of rig mechanic. This could only be done through the hard work I put in.

High school diploma. Mechanical Engineering T1. Marine fitter qualified. Marine Engineer's Charge Certificate (Chief Engineer's Certificate).
