Areas of expertise include operations geology, wellsite geology, mudlogging, pore pressure evaluation, data acquisition, log interpretation and depositional environments.
Last job: October 2007 to June 2009: Consultant Operations/Wellsite Geologist at British Gas Trinidad and Tobago. Operations included the drilling of five wells (including two horizontals) in the Poinsettia Field in the North Coast Marine Area and five development wells (including four extended reach) in the Dolphin Field in the East Coast Marine Area, Trinidad.
Responsibilities included:
Assist in pre-drill planning
Preparation of well montages and Geological Operations Plans
Presentation of Geological Operations to team in Pre-Spud meeting
Attend morning meetings with rig and drilling team
Geological guidance and updates to team during drilling operations
Determination of casing points and total depth during drilling operations
Quality control and interpretation of Formation Evaluation, Drilling Parameters, Pressure Logs and Mud Logging Data
Pore pressure evaluation
Qualitative hydrocarbon evaluation
Witnessing, quality control and interpretation of LWD and wire line logs
Correlations of formation tops, faults and markers from mud logging data, LWD and composite logs
Supervision of coring operations
Daily liaison with, and daily wellsite geological reports to key operations personnel
Liaise and communicate with Government Officials from the Ministry of Energy and Energy Resources on drilling and geological issues.
Provide documents to Ministry of Energy in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Preparation of wellsite lithologs and final composite logs using Winlog Software.
Ensure all samples, logs and reports are delivered on time
Write well site geological/end of well report upon completion of drilling operations
Training of junior staff members in Mudlogging and Wellsite Geology
