For the past years 13 years of working as lab. Tech, I have full knowledge /consciousness of the safety procedures that involve in the laboratory.

BASIC FUNCTION:

To provide fast and accurate results through FAAS, Sulfur, Oxygen, XRF, Volumetric, and Gravimetric analysis in-process control monitoring of the plant.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(LAB. TECH. 1)

Undergone training on laboratory techniques and procedure as Lab. Tech on gas analysis group.
Assists in arsenic and mercury analysis of water sample
Performs volumetric analysis of all process group samples
Standardizes stock solutions for Dore, By-product, etc.
Performs pulp density of Refinery stocktaking samples and at the same time do the analyses.
Computes and log-in all results.
Analyzes mercury, chlorides, flourine, arsenic and other trace elements of copper concentrates, acid samples lime silica etc.
Performs copper telluride analysis.
Performs specific gravity, solubility for special samples.
Analyzes samples using instruments like FAAS Spectrophotometer, and ICP.
Prepares parting solution of Fire assay for platinum and palladium analysis.
Performs gold and silver analysis of copper concentrates.
Prepares standard solution for gold and silver.

Sees to it that work assignment of the group’s technicians are carried out to maximum if not to completion. Proper turn over of work done before the shift ends.
Sees to it that samples are feed in XRF spectrometer. Responsible for all XRF analysis and the fast feedback of the results to the concerned division or department.
Performs gravimetric analysis on all samples from Smelter, Refinery, Dore, etc.
Performs fluorine preparation and determination using ion-meter instrument.
Logs-in all samples received within the shift.
Checks all analysis results before endorsement to Area Manager. Relays the results to the end users and records in the logbook/worksheet for final reporting. Calibrates the O2 analyzer when necessary.
Performs the standardization of volumetric stock solution when the need arises.
Maintains the cleanliness of her working area before the end of the shift.
Acts as Officer-In-Charge of the shift, especially during 1st shift (11:00pm-7:00a.m).
