Professional Experience
Full time PERMOSEAL (PTY) LTD. Senior Polymer Plant Operator 7years (1999 –
Nature of work: Duties include manufacture if Premix solutions and Adhesive
Solutions. The preparation and manufacturing of Polymer and Co –Polymer
emulsions. As operator I am responsible for the supervision of the whole process
from preparation to decanting of each reactor. I am responsible to ensure the
completed product passes all required quality control tests, which I perform
on day and night shift.
Responsible for the operation of the following units:
o Contact Solvent Unit
o Polymer Plant, Reactors 1-8
My job description is as follows:
Ensuring plant and equipment efficiency, controlling production targets and specifications are within parameters of the plant regulation.
Regularly undertaking fire training, first aid and refresher courses in practical and theory.
Shutdown coordination i.e. safe shutdown and preparation for turn around and inspection of plant equipment.
Issuing of work permits that must conform to safety standards & procedures
Member of Fire Emergency Response Team.
Health and Safety Representative and Level 1 and Level 2 First Aider.
Help planning and executing production
Plant and vessel optimization
Utilities management i.e. steam, water, power,effluent
