MBA Engineer with 6 Years Experience in Oil & Gas Industry

With 6 years of extensive management experience in the oil industry, seeking a Electrical/Project Engineer position which will allow me to utilize my experiences to enhance my skills and knowledge and aslo to mentor and train my team.

I started my carrier as an Electrical Engineer at a mechanical and electrical consultancy firm, NY Runding Consulting Engineers in March 2004. In Sept 2004, I moved to a new company and now had worked for four years in the oil and gas industry for Tanjung Offshore Berhad, one of the major Malaysian's Integrated Oil and Gas Service Provider Company. As a project engineer, I am mainly responsible for project management and marketing including managing the project implementation for the supply, engineering, testing, and delivery of electrical engineering equipment and provision of services for several of local and overseas oil operators such as Petronas, Shell, Exxon Mobil, Talisman Energy Ltd, Murphy Oil and etc. The company is serving both local and international customers by providing cost-effective, adaptable solutions ranging from engineering management to business management. In order to accomplish this goal, however, I must deepen my knowledge of the field. Throughout my experience on this present job, my working field had thought me a lot on true leadership skills. I’ve been promoted to Senior Project Engineer in Jan 2008. This position has given me the opportunity to interact with different level of people including managers, suppliers, engineers and site personnel from all over the world, thereby expanding my international perspective and communication skills. It is highly unusual for a young associate to represent the company at such events, and my self-confidence as well as my management skills was further enhanced by this successful experience. I believe that my background in engineering and management has prepared me for such a career and in addition, the Master program in Business Administration (in particular Business and Management) shall further be invaluable in helping me to achieve these objectives. It would enable me to channel my quantitative and conceptual skills in analyzing business issues and would open up new avenues in management.

I had completed my degree and graduated from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 2004. I'm also hold Master in Business Administration (MBA) from Universiti Utara Malaysia. I’ve chosen this MBA program because of its international focus, group work, and emphasizing on business learning, leadership skills and theories. I see this as perfectly instep with my goal of pursuing a career in engineering and business management. I believe that my background in engineering and management has prepared me for such a career and in addition, the Master program in Business Administration (in particular Business and Management) shall further be invaluable in helping me to achieve these objectives. It would enable me to channel my quantitative and conceptual skills in analyzing business issues and would open up new avenues in management

Having almost six (6) years experience in design, engineering, project management, procurement, construction and commissioning in oil & gas (offshore & onshore), petrochemical industries as well as building construction and services mainly in electrical and instrumentation. Well familiar with various international codes and standards. Having hands on experience in various computer software’s such as AUTOCAD as well as Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project. Mainly responsible for executing project implementation for electrical package of the assigned projects which include such as In-Charge of all matters pertaining planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical and management aspects of project. In addition I have been a member of the BEM (Board of Engineers Malaysia) and IEM (Institute of Engineers Malaysia) for the past three years. Through its workshops/seminars and publications like the 'Jurutera' and ‘Ingeniur it has exposed me to a lot of emerging technologies in the field of engineering and business. I’m now in a training process under the supervision of one of the Professional Engineer (Ir) under Log Book Training Program to enable myself in sitting for Professional Engineer through BEM and IEM’s Professional Assessment.
