Ammonia plant, Cairo, Egypt.
Position: Shift Engineer
Scope of work:
•Sharing in the erection of the plant
• Training course for one month in (Arab academy for science and technology) on steam reforming process.
•Training in AFC (Abu Qir) for tow months, this training includes
1. Ammonia Plant (steam reforming UHDE process) Primary Reformer is top firing 3. Viewing some accidental troubles was taking place during the training and its reaction
4. Special training on ammonia plant start up and shut down.
•Sharing in the pre-commissioning of ammonia plant
•Training on Talkha for one week includes viewing of plant shut down for the maintenance planning.
•Training in AFC as (D C S) operator for the plant.
•Sharing by my own effort in commissioning includes with UHDE stuff
1.Air blowing for all gas pipes
2.Flushing for all water and solution pipes
3. Steam blowing for all steam lines
4 . Make start up for the Deaerator and BFW pump
5. Test trip system, its reasons and action
6. Make a start up my own self with Hitachi stuff and lonely several times

1. Monitor and control of ammonia Plant steam reforming (Topsoe Process) and the plant including:
B-Steam reforming section (Primary Reformer is side firing)
C-CO Conversion including (HTS<S)
D-HPC Section including CO2 Removal and Condensate Stripper
E- Synthesis and Refrigeration Section (ammonia converter two beds)
F-HRU Hydrogen recovery unit
G-Boiler feed water system and steam system
H- Auxuliry boiler for production high pressure
I-Compressor house section
2. Training on trip system and its reaction
3. Member of the production team as Shift Engineer including total control on (TDC) system
4. Viewing some accidental troubles was taking place during the training and its reaction
5. Special training on ammonia plant START UP and SHUT DOWN
