Professional Experience

Scope of Work in Purchasing Department

Handle the procurement of stores, spares, provisions, safety items, navigational equipments, etc..of 10 vessels with various trades
Coordinate with the Masters/Chief Engineers/Chief Officers & Managers of other Departments
Send queries to local and overseas suppliers and negotiate to ensure quality, quantity, price, and prompt delivery
Make a summary of all the quotations received (at least 3 quotations) and forward same to Technical Manager for approval and finally to Managing Director
Confirm the order and raise the corresponding LPO. Follow up to be done to avoid any delays on delivery. Keep the local suppliers posted on the ETB of the vessels to ensure the timely delivery of materials.
Upon receiving of NOA, forward the necessary documents to PRO to clear the spares from Custom.
Ensure that the vessels are receiving the right materials. Maintain a file for the delivery orders with the stamp/sign of the Master/CE
Maintain data base folder and different files (vessel’s wise) for the supplied, off landed materials, and pending requisitions
Maintain Approved LPO and LPO subject for Approval in separate files.
Maintain LPO book and Invoice Register
Clear Invoices on time and forward same to Accounts Department.
Liaising with Technical Manager and reporting to Managing Director the status of the supplies and requisitions received from the vessels.

Scope of Work in Technical Department
Source out Companies dealing with offshore and onshore repairs of the machineries on board
Forward the charges received from at least 3 companies to Technical Manager
Upon receiving TM’s and MD’s approval, negotiate with the chosen Company for the lowest possible offer and then finalize the LPO.
Ensure that Technicians/Engineers will board the vessels on the given time.
Maintain LPO book and Invoice Register
Maintain files (vessel’s wise) for work done report, dry dock, plans, etc…
Reporting to Managing Director the status of the vessels.
