Project Coordinator/ Consultant Geologist

A position as, a project coordinator/Consulting Geologist in a project as a Consultant with a special interest, In Bio- Stratigraphy.

As a Deputy Director (Senior geologist) Dec, 1992 – To-date.
Employer: Director General, Geological Survey of Bangladesh, Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Division, Govt . Of the People‘s Republic of Bangladesh.

• Responsibilities as a project chief, preparation of technical proposals, client and regulatory agency contact, dealing with the Foreign Counter Parts as well as the donor agencies.

• Project Planning, co-ordination, Organizational, integration and completion of the project.
• Ability to contribute business development efforts by assisting in the proposal development and marketing activities.
• To convey results and findings by means of oral discussion, presentation with documentation. Compilation and presentation of oral scientific studies to audience.
• Have experienced to assist in the development of Project budget.
• Performed the responsibilities to serve for analyzing project objective and deserved outcomes and for the development of the co-effective task plans for completion in time with in the budget frame.
• Project site implementation through completion , directed activities of the project site staff members, review of report, well-logging and interpretation, field mapping sampling, sub-surface Stratigraphic correlation, documentation and report writing and supervision of technical stuff etc.

2. Experience With Total Risk Solutions, TRS (London) Ltd.,(Bangladesh Representative office at Dhaka) : Working as a coordinator since 1st October,
• In TRS job responsibilities to maintain liaison with the oil, gas and mineral exploration companies who been working in Bangladesh on the basis of PSC (Production Share contract with Petrobangla).

3. As an Assistant Director (Geologist) 27th Oct.,1981-Dec 1992; Employer : Geological Survey of Bangladesh, Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Division ,
• Responsibilities include supervision and oversight of deep-drilling project
Geological field knowledge of the Mojave Desert and of the Grand Canyon, Arizona. Working experience in the Mississippi bird-foot delta region conducted by the Chevron oil company of USA.

Bs.c (Hons), M.Sc. in Geology & Mining.University Rajshahi, Bangladesh,
1977-78.Post-graduate Academic course from Louisiana State University on Bio-Stratigraphy, 1985.

Professional Accomplishment: In 1984-85 awarded with a overseas scholarship for Academic Post-graduate Course , followed by with a Job training programme with the scientists of the US Geological Survey at National Centre, Reston Virginia on Bio-Stratigraphy. During these courses also achieve the technical skill in the personal computer, and on the Language of Fortran-4 . Successfully completed a training programme at Bangladesh Petroleum Institute (BPI) on “Geophysical Techniques in the field of Oil and Gas exploration”.

Attended the following management training programme with the Academy for Planning and Development:

• Planning and Project Management.
• Mobilization of Foreign Aid and its Management.
• Supply and Material Management.

Publication :
1. Geology of Satkania - Dulahazara Area, Chittagong and
Cox’s Bazaar districts, Bangladesh, Published in the Record s Of Geological Survey Bangladesh,vol-7 part-4, 1998.
2. Geological mapping in and around greater Sylhet district in the Beani Bazaar gas field, Kailash Tila gas field, Haripur gas field area and in the tamabilarea of Bangladesh.

(i) Quaternary Palaeo -echological study of salt Lake Island of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA.
(ii) Palynological analyses and Bio-Stratigraphic relation of Neogene –Paleogene range zone pollens of Surma group and Sylhet Limestone at Tamabil-Jaflong section, at Sylhet district, Bangladesh.

Language Proficiency: Fluent in spoken and written English.

Membership of Professional Societies: Life Member of Bangladesh Geological Society. Member of American Association of Stratigraphic Palynologist.
