Professional Experience
Chief Engineer aboard 65, 100, 135 Tug Boats and 135 and 165 Landing Craft Utility Vessels LCU. Trained, licensed and supervised all engineers assigned to the vessel. Supervised all maintenance performed on all types of vessels. Trained, maintained and supervised the repair/rebuild of the following diesel engines; Detroit Diesel, Caterpillar, EMD, Cummins, Cooper Bessemer, Atlas and Fairbanks Morris. Trained, maintained and supervised the repaired/rebuild of the following systems; power generation, fresh water/sea water, hydraulic, sanitation, water purification, air conditioning, refrigeration, heating, electrical three-phase, single phase, AC/DC, high/low voltage, fuel, steering, boiler, pneumatics, communication, reduction gears, small engine repair 2/4 cycle gas engines. Maintained parts request and parts usage documents. Trained, supervised and strictly enforced Safety according to OSHA and EPA standards and regulations at international, federal, state and local levels. Additional duties included being the Senior Engineer for the Engine Department Data Collection Team on various types of watercraft, ROWPUs, and amphibious equipment. Performed all logistical requirements for the engineering department for all missions. Responsible for the daily upkeep of the various log books, inventory control and scheduled personnel leave request.
Supervised and trained soldiers on the 203mm and 155mm Self Propelled and Towed Howitzers. Worked on M113, M548, M547, and the VTRs. Trained and supervised all personnel on the safe and proper handling of ammunition, explosives, nuclear weapons, chemical and biological warfare. Removed/replaced packs, tracks, torsion bars, and performed Bore Scope and Pull Overs. Held the position of Battalion training NCO, NBC NCO, Master Driver/Instructor, Special Weapons NCO at Battery and Battalion levels, S-2 and S-3 NCO
