Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic/Driver with the additional duties as a Tactical Vehicle/ Non-Tactical dispatcher.
As a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic, I determine the causes of mechanical operating problems, traces and locate defects, and makes repairs to heavy mobile equipment and vehicles. This repair work includes the overhauling or rebuilding and other major repair of systems such as diesel, gasoline and other types of internal combustion engines; automatic and non-automatic transmissions; heavy duty drive line systems; and hydraulic entity systems and controls. Replace starters, generators, ignition and wirings. Check and clean spark plugs, and adjusts magnetos, timing, valves, distributors, coils, condensers. Keep records and reports on gas, oil usage, mileage, repairs, and provided routes and destination information and instructions. Prepared DA Form 2401, DD Form 1970, (Vehicle Dispatch Log and Daily/ Monthly Utilization Record) prior to dispatching vehicles. Determine and select appropriate type and size vehicles based on mission requirements. Coordinated Maintenance of all vehicles with local customers and ensured forms are completed at the time the vehicle is turned in for maintenance.
